Fall Fertilizer Application on Canola

As canola acres have surged, so has the need for fertilizer to feed the hungry crop. Canola can utilize more than half a pound of SO4 for each bushel of seed produced. In areas where yields have exceeded 70 bushels per acre, over 35 pounds of SO4 are utilized by the crop. Growers are struggling to obtain the fertilizer application rates to meet their target yields.
